Do You Want A Mentor Or A Friend?

A mentor is someone who takes time out of their lives, to give back in the form of helping another to get to where they are.  Mentors come from the perspective of knowing something is possible.  They know what it takes to have the same success they have achieved.  Sometimes their passion and non negotiable attitude can be a little abrasive.  Mentors seem to be unnecessarily hard on us, don’t they?

The question you have to ask yourself is, “Am I in need of a mentor or am I looking for a friend.”  You have to decide between the two because a friend will love you just the way you are.  They don’t want to see you change because they are attracted to who you are now.

A mentor, on the other hand, loves you too much to have you stay the way you are.  They know that you can do more.  The greatest gift you can give to yourself and your mentor is to appreciate the boot camp atmosphere of your mentor’s aggressive style.

Remember, trainers know that they have to bring you to your threshold in order to take you beyond your limits.  You trust them. Let them do what they need to do to get the right results in your life.
